PropertyOfZack Interview : : Hot Rod Circuit

propertyofzack:

Andy Jackson has been a good friend to PropertyOfZack whether it be about Terrible Things or Death In The Park, but he recently took the time to talk to us about Hot Rod Circuit. Andy and I discussed the band reuniting, scheduled east and west coast shows, and an old track featuring Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional, Further Seems Forever), among other things. Read up and enjoy!

So you left the band in April; Catch us up from then to now in terms of what you’ve been doing musically.
Hot Rod is going to be playing Krazy Fest next week and it’s the Sorry About Tomorrow lineup with Jay, Casey, and Mike. We got asked to do the festival and an old friend of ours is doing it and we couldn’t really say no. From there, I wrote a new song and we tracked the drums and my guitars. I’m still waiting on Jay and Casey; they were supposed to do it this weekend, but I haven’t heard from them yet. We have a new track and we have a couple of tracks that were unreleased that nobody has ever heard. After Krazy Fest we’re going to post the stuff and work on a new Facebook and launch some stuff. I don’t know if we’re going to put those up on iTunes or give them for free, we haven’t decided. We’ve got new merch coming and we’re planning on doing four west coast shows and five to six east coast shows around September/October. Andrew Ellis is back on board, our old booking agent, so we’ve got our whole team back. We’re not officially back together, we’re not looking to go out and tour all the time, but if we can get a week or two week leg and do it for fun, we’re more than happy to do it. We’re all still great friends, we love to play music, and everybody’s in different places in their lives now. Everyone has kids and jobs; it’s not like we can just hop in a fan and tour for six months.
